    Are there any countries in Africa that do not have any European language as an official tongue?

    		Egypt is the first example I've found. English is certainly used but is not an Official Language.

    		Yes- an apparently complete list of official and spoken languages is provided at http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/african_languages.htm.

    The countries not using a European language as an OFFICIAL tongue include: Algeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Tunisia. Many of these use Arabic.
