    What was Phineas Gage famous for?

    		Having a tamping iron go through his head in 1848. He survived and the tamping iron separated two parts of his brain (Limbic system and the cortex, I believe). His behavior and personality changed, and he was unable to continue his work with railroad construction. (Phineas Gage is also one of the people that we covered in psychology.)
