    After an aircraft company has tightened the last nut and bolt on a new airliner, how much flight testing is required before it is certified to carry passengers?

    		New aircraft are tested rigorously in many areas before they are certified for passenger carriage. There is no standard amount of test hours, however the hours tested can easily reach into the thousands of hours.

    		And just as an example, the new Boeing 787 logged over 2300 hours of test time over 700 test flights. So the answer is: still a lot!
