What is the original meaning of the word "analyze"?

    Question #126034. Asked by star_gazer. (May 25 12 2:44 PM)

I think it is from greak "ana" which means backwards and "lisis" which means (in context) breaking up, so , it means going back into the life of a person, piece by piece.
