"By tradition Joachim and Anne are considered to be the names of the parents of Mary, the Mother of God. We have no historical evidence, however, of any elements of their lives, including their names. Any stories about Mary's father and mother come to us through legend and tradition." -from http://www.catholic.org/saints/saint.php?saint_id=22 By some coincidence, their joint feast day is 26 July (today).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genealogy_of_Jesus provides an analysis of Jesus' ancestry, which includes many uncertatinties, including the apparent contradiction in the Gospels as to who Joseph's father was: Eli or Jacob. The paternal side could be considered academic, given the gospel of virgin birth, but this site goes through a bewildering range of possibilities for both sides of the lineage, and their potential linkages.
