In Hampshire, we used to say "bunny, bunny", being more childish I guess.

Never heard of anyone round my way doing it - that's in the north west of England. I've seen mentions in books of it as a custom, though. One point - how do you say 'white rabbits' BEFORE your first word of the day?

You say it under your breath, before you talk to anybody on the first day of the month. That's the way it has been done in my family, anyway.
