    Mars orbits the sun just like Earth does and so, depending upon which particular time of the year you are asking for the distance from the Sun to Mars will vary. Its orbit is elliptical, and its distance from the Sun varies from 206.7 million km to 249.2 million km. Its average distance from the Sun is 227.7 million km.

    Minimum distance from the Sun: 207 million km (128 million miles)
    Maximum distance from the Sun: 249 million km (155 million miles)
