When was the first transpacific (continental Americas to continental Asia) passenger flight, and what was its route?

It was a Pan Am flight on the China Clipper from San Francisco to Manila on 22 November 1935.

That PanAm reference has these contradicting paragraphs:
1: 1934 the Philippine Clipper (NC14715) carrying 15 passengers at the speed of 130 mph arrives in Hong Kong Harbor. The completion of this Transpacific flight from San Francisco established the first commercial airline between North America and the continent of Asia.

2: The first Transpacific flight was flown on November 22, 1935 in the China Clipper. The flight was flown from San Francisco to Manila carrying 22 people for $675 a ticket.

Thes seem to suggest that not only was the flight from SF to HK earlier (in 1934) but also meets the requirement that the destination was continemtal Asia. In neither case are any details of the route given.
