    Since 1 hertz is defined as 1 cycle per second, and a MHz is a megahertz, or 1 million cycles per second, this means a typical home microwave emits 2,450,000,000 cycles (wave peaks) every second. It could be considered one continuous wave being emitted at that frequency, however...
