The potato was native to the New World (the Andes region, I believe), so it is doubtful that it would have made its way to England yet in King Henry VIII's time.

I don't think it is relevent if there was a potato in Henry VIII's time, I think the point is could he have enjoyed a meal like that. Looking at paintings of him he was probably miserable after gorging himself. I may be missing the point but this is the way I read it.

I'd say the portraits of Henry VIII show that he enjoyed MANY huge meals.

I read the question the same as essaychess. I don't think there's any doubt that Henry the Eighth enjoyed his food. I interpreted the question as to whether those foods listed were available to him at the time.
