    Zabaglione is a delicate custard made with egg yolk, sugar and Marsala wine. It is cooked slowly on top of the stove, takes a lot of stirring, and is served warm. It is the kind of dessert Italian dreams are made of.

    There is also a French version ,called sabayon ,made of egg yolk, sugar, wine and what the French call 'aromates'.In this version marsala wine is replaced by either white wine or champagne.Source:Le Petit Robert (dictionary)
