Is mail from the contiguous USA to the UK all sent from one single airport or are regional hubs used for this?

It's not totally clear from this, but the USPS has five international service centers (ISC), an international mail processing facility. There are only five such USPS facilities in the United States, located in Chicago, New York, Miami, Los Angeles and San Francisco. They have 275 processing and distribution centers, each covering an approximate 200 mile radius. So mail will go from the PDC to the ISC and then onward to the destination country.
The USPS doesn't own planes so they contract this out to various airlines: UPS, Emery Worldwide, Ryan International Airlines, FedEx Express, Rhoades Aviation, American Airlines, United Airlines, and Express One International.
