According to Wikipedia, Bellfowers come from a genus of plants called Uvularia. It is found in April and May and they are often on wooded slopes or in ravines.

I think that 'bellfowers' will be found to be a typo. 'Bellflowers' in Europe are members of the Campanula genus. One of the best known is the harebell, which in Scotland is the bluebell. (The flower called bluebell in England is something quite different, but still blue and bell shaped.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campanula
Baloo has some rather aggressive campanulas, which saw off a little spreading plant called red biddy (by some people, anyway, and don't try to drink either it or the other red biddy) which usually takes over places. The campanulas haven't met up with Baloo's snake lilies yet. Could get interesting.
