Is Ford V8 Pilot the only side valve v engine?

Question #128019. Asked by mangydog. (Nov 25 12 3:47 PM)

No. Side valve engines have been around for 3/4 of a century. They were originally built by Ford for Australian army trucks back in the mid to late 30s and were built in Canada. Harley-Davidson also used side-valve engines way back in the early 20th century from approx. 1909-1929. Honda also has a version as do several other engine manufacturers. Ford still uses them in the Pilot and some other manufacturers still have the style kicking around.
There's a lot of info available on the net, just type in "side valve engines" in your browser.
