    There are opposing theories about the komodo dragon's saliva, but the prevailing theory is that there are multiple strains of bacteria present in the animal's saliva which cause sepsis and infection.

    According to National Geographic scientists have recently discovered that the Komodo dragon also produces venom and kills with a combination with the bacteria.
