Why was the table tennis ball size changed from 38mm to 40mm?

    Question #128050. Asked by AlanHill2306. (Nov 27 12 6:57 AM)

The new size was introduced after the 2000 Olympic games. It is slower and spins less than the original 38mm size. This was aimed at making table tennis more viable as a spectator sport, since the super fast game had made watching on television very difficult.
