Why did John F Kennedy try to end 'The Federal Reserve Bank?

    Question #128118. Asked by george48. (Nov 29 12 5:03 PM)

As the Federal Reserve is a private, for profit, organisation which dropped its assets in the form of the gold standard (which was already diluted by fractional reserve banking, offering more money than held in assets) making the entire wealth both theoretical and subject to a power greater than the government, it is not surprising the occasional politician has attempted to redress the balance by removing it.

In Kennedy's case he recognised this and openly stated he was going to wipe it out with a signature, and bring in the silver standard, and like so many before him who announced their intentions to deal with a powerful force, did not live to complete the mission.
