    According to this site, Philip Parker, with 200,000 has overtaken the previous leader, L. Ron Hubbard (1,084). These figures, however, run into the 21st century. Parker's books are actually electronic compilations of publicly available data, and are only printed when ordered from Amazon.

    The wikipedia link also provides some other options: Rolf Kalmuczak with 2900 before his death in 2007; the 16th and 17th century Spanish playwright Lope de Vega is credited with about 2200 plays.
