Ted Williams, whose mother was May Venzor. She was from El Paso, but her heritage was Mexican.

Ted Williams; although he did not speak much about it, probably due to the times and his problematic family life, Williams' mother May Venzor was of Mexican descent. Williams was a baseball icon, elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966.

An interesting note to add to this is that Reggie Jackson also was of Mexican heritage. The New York Times ran an interesting story on Ted Williams and Reggie Jackson who both were reluctant to acknowledge their heritage.
