    Is it true that Tony Iommi, guitarist of Black Sabbath had an accident with his fingers when he was young?

    Yes,he worked in a sheet metal factory and lost the tips of his middle and ring finger on his right hand, when he was 17.He plays the guitar left-handedly.

    In order to continue playing, he improvised his own prosthetics by melting soda bottles to the tips of his damaged fingers and dropped the tuning of his guitar so the strings would not be as tough to depress. My source is "Guitar Player" magazine.
