According to the Mayan calendar, if the world allegedly ends on December 21, 2012 at midnight, which time zone constitutes the "midnight", or will the world slowly end an hour at a time as each location reaches "midnight"?

    Question #128496. Asked by salami_swami. (Dec 19 12 10:45 AM)

Since we only think of the end of the world as December 21, 2012 because the dates have already been changed to GMT usage, it's probably best to use midnight at Greenwich as the point. But it looks like it's actually "midnight" of December 20 that is the last of the period.

Note also that most scholars don't believe the Mayans actually thought the world was ending. Instead it's just the end of one period and beinning of the next.

As far as I can tell at time of writing it is 6am natural time (ie accepting noon as the time the sun is at it's highest) on 20th December in the Pacific Islands.

Given that and the above link this question will answer itself in 16 hours.

I suggest watching the usage from New Zealand players - if they start dropping off-line then it is safe to say you don't need to worry about missing the last posting date etc

I also wonder how some areas will be affected if they are on Doomsday Saving Time.
