    Bruce Gyngell is credited as being the first person on Australian television. He appeared on 16 Sepember 1956. He said ""Good evening, and welcome to television".

    Whilst Bruce Gyngell was the first person seen in vision on Australian TV, Announcer John Godson was the first person heard on Tv on the 16th September 1956
