    Actually not - according to this, he played for a precursor team called Portsmouth AFC, rather than Portsmouth FC itself..

    I stand corrected. There are a lot of references to Doyle's having played for Portsmouth FC all over the internet but as Upstart3 has pointed out, this is not correct.
