    Do we know what colour dinosaurs were? If so, how?

    We know the color of at least one dinosaur, and have for a couple of years now:

    Fossils of skin imprints have shown us that the majority of dinosaurs had leathery, scaly skin, like the reptiles that we see today. However, these fossils don't usually preserve the pigments that make up the skin's colour, so it can sometimes be difficult for scientists to say exactly what colour the skin was.
