This is just a guess but I'll say Harrison Ford. He did meet his wife Melissa, who wrote the screenplay, around that time I think. The IMDB doesn't list a school principal in the cast. That was a good guess, Dreamer. This quote is from a Harrison Ford fan website: Harrison Ford filmed a cameo appearance as Elliot's principal, and his wife, Melissa Mathison (E.T. screenwriter) had a part as the school nurse. Their scenes were not included in the 1982 release, but are supposed to have been restored in the laser disc version re-release of the movie. You can see outtakes from the film while waiting in line for the E.T. ride at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, and hear Harrison as the principal. Jul 15 01, 5:07 PM
