What golfer holds the record for most PGA Tour events played?

I hope someone digs this one up! I've tried without success. As a golf aficianado, my guess would be Sam Snead for a couple of reasons. Not only did he play for five decades, from the early 1930s well into the 1970s when he was in his 60s, he was active for most of those years, not just dabbling on the periphereries of tour golf. I'd be astonished if someone elese has played more frequently on the PGA tour. I will continue to do research. Jan 16 13, 1:26 AM
