What is the link between The Sweet and Deep Purple?

    Question #129110. Asked by Alison4. (Jan 22 13 2:30 AM)

Two links i have found here. Ian Gillan frontman of Deep Purple was in two bands that contained future members of Sweet. These were: Wainwright's Gentlemen and The Javelins.
Gordon Fairminer of The Javelins went on to become The Sweet's guitarist and Mick Tucker of Wainwright's Gentlemen going on to become The Sweet's drummer.

Thank you DoveHouse, you answered my very first question on FunTrivia! My answer was about Wainwright's Gentlemen (I've never heard about The Javelins so I've learned something knew!). Ian Gillan from Deep Purple was in Wainwright's Gentlemen with Brian Connolly and Mick Tucker from The Sweet. Thanks again for answering my question!
