Why were animal cracker boxes made with a string on the box?

    Question #129211. Asked by jbooker8. (Jan 28 13 8:07 PM)

    Jodisull

In 1902, the National Biscuit Company added the string to the box of animal crackers during the Christmas season. The idea was that people could hang it on their tree. I love those animal crackers and have wonderful memories of my mom giving them to me in the grocery store while I rode in the front set.
