    Who was the first U.S. President to have 'Hail To The Chief', played for him?

    It seems to be John Quincy Adams, although it was first played in 1815 to commemorate George Washington's birthday. It was played for Adams in 1828, in Ohio and was first played at the White House for Andrew Jackson.

    John Quincy Adams was the first President to have it played for him in 1828 during the opening of the Chesapeake and Ohio canal. It had previously been played to honour George Washington in 1815 on an event to commemerate his birthday.
