Why are the walls in so many movie scenes painted yellow?

    Question #129432. Asked by Stargzr613. (Feb 09 13 12:54 PM)

I've found a lot of information about what it means when yellow is used as a symbol in films and art, but nothing about the use as a palette for film. I have noticed that lighting shows up in Photography and Cinema with many more degrees of depth and contrast when the background is yellow. Could that have something to do with it?

That's what we were thinking. We watch a great manynfilms, old and new, and have noticed a preponderance of yellow rooms. Somenof the newer movies, such as "Moonrise Kingdom" was shot will a yellow filter it seems. Thanks for answering.
