    		Homer, Marge, Lisa, Maggie and Bartholomew JoJo "Bart" Simpson reside in the Springfield that's in the Beaver State, The Simpsons creator Matt Groening tells Smithsonian magazine.

    Springfield, Ore., is 100 miles south of Portland, Groening's hometown.

    		The sprinfield in the Simpsons is named after springfield oregon, but it is not sprinfield oregon in fact.

    The springfield that the simpsons live in could be sprinfield anywhere, as outlined in the wikipedia page.
