www.peevish.co.uk/slang/articles/full-monty.htm The expression 'full Monty' is from the collection of medals that adorned Field Marshall Montgomery's chest. In WWII Montgomery was an officer in England. This expression was more popular in England than here, but I remember the expression when soldiers came home in uniform and had a number of medals. People said he had a 'full Monty'.
