The Great Pyramid of Khufu or Cheops (2680 B.C.) was designated one of the Seven Wonders of the World and is the largest pyramid ever built in Giza, near Cairo.
Khufu (pronounced khoofoo or Cheops kops), fl. c.2680 B.C., king of ancient Egypt, founder of the IV dynasty is buried here. He was king for 23 years and was famous as the builder of the greatest pyramid at Giza.

Although not as tall as the one in Egypt, the world's largest pyramid (i.e. largest in area) is in Cholula de Rivadabia, Mexico. This pyramid, topping out at 177 feet and covering 45 acres, is dedicated to the Aztec deity, Quetzalcoatl. I could not find out if anyone is actually buried there.

While watching a television show on the History Channel called 'The Most' they said that the largest pyramid in the world was 'The White Pyramid' near Xiang China and in it lies the Empress Wu (sp?). It stands at over 1000 feet tall. Can anyone back up their claim?

The Great White Pyramid in Xian, China is more than 5000 years old and is the tomb of the first Emperess of China, Quain Lin. A launch pad has been built in the vicinity for the Chinese Space Program, so the whole area is sealed off. The US Military knew about the pyramid for about 45 years, before recently letting the general public know. It is indeed claimed to be 1000 feet high and I'm sure it is, when you measure it at the sides. This is not the same as measuring at the point and then straight down.
According to Guinness World Records, the Pyramid of Kululkan/Quetzalcoatl in Mexico was considered larger than The Great Pyramid when it was originally built, it was however, destroyed. The pyramid you see today is built on the foundations of three other ones. There was also a church built at sometime by the Spanish and it is thought, they had no idea what they were building it on. Guinness claims it is 177 feet tall. I found one site that confirmed that and another that says it is only 90 feet high. Quetzalcoatl was a God for many of the Mesoamerican cultures, including Aztec and Mayan. The Q name is what the Aztecs called him and the K name is what the Mayans called him. There is no one buried there, the Mesoamerican cultures build pyramids as religious symbols or places, not tombs.
I would say that The Great Pyramid of Giza or Khufu (Cheops) is technically the correct answer. There are sites that claim it is almost 500 feet high, but again, that is measuring the sides. The original height was 280 feet and is now 262 feet.
By the way, measuring by volume is a whole other ballgame!

The height of the Great Pyramid of Khufu/Cheops was originally about 480 feet at the centre (measuring straight down from the top through the pyramid to the point directly below it). A small portion of the top was removed in the 14th century and it is now 460 feet high.

The Cholula pyramid in Mexico seems to be the biggest by volume, while the Giza pyramid in Egypt is the highest.
