bpykh says: The first president of Israel was the chemistry professor Chaim Weizmann. By the way the fifth president of Israel Ephraim Kazir was also a professor for bio-chemistry. Sun Sep 09 05:43:37 CDT 2001 Sorry Kazir is the forth, not the fifth. Albert Einstein was offered to be the second and Chaim Weizmann's nephew Ezer Weizmann was also a president.
