Minus 40 degrees is the correct answer; to convert degrees celsius to degrees Fahrenheit, multiply by 1.8 and add 32. That will give you the temp in degrees Fahrenheit.
    example:
    -40x1.8=-72
    -72+32=-40.
That makes it same in both Celsius and Fahrenheit.
