If there are crators on Earth where meteors hit, where did the meteors go?

Sorry about that. Meteors when they impact earth, they hit with such force and impact that most of them, depending on their content, disentgrate (sp?) upon impact leaving nothing but a giant (or small) hole. Plus there are other factors in this i.e. size, angle of entry, composition, and where it hits. A general rule of thumb is smaller ones burn-up upon entry, the medium ones survive ,and the big ones hit with so much force they blow themselves to bits.

I think the really big ones end up being buried because the impact is such that they get driven deep down into the earth. I once visited a massive meteor crater in Arizona and that was the explanaton I got as to where the meteor had gone.
