I know that Jade is one of them. There are two types of Jade, one is Actinolite and the other is Jadeite. Individual crystals of Jadeite are the rarest of the two. Both are found in China and Central America. Jade is tougher than steel.

Unique among gemstones, Ammolite is valued for the brilliant range of color caught in one organic stone. Fiery and iridescent, the spectrum of blue, green, gold and red is created by light refracting through each layer of a prehistoric mollusk. Today, the fossil is the newest and perhaps the rarest gemstone on earth. Originally a shellfish living 70 million years ago, Ammolite is now mined in limited quantities from a find in southern Alberta, Canada. Ammolite is rare and beautiful. There are no other gem-quality deposits of Ammolite in the world, making Ammolite the only truly Canadian gemstone.
Like something from another world, a magnificent new gemstone has burst upon the scene with a stunning new color. Sugilite - The newest and rarest gemstone in the world of fine jewelry.
Not all diamonds are white. Impurities lend diamonds a shade of blue, red, orange, yellow, green and even black. A green diamond is the rarest. It is not the rarest gemstone, however. That title goes to a pure red ruby. Diamonds actually are found in fair abundance; thousands are mined every year. 80% of them are not suitable for jewellery - they are used in industry. Only diamonds of higher clarity are sourced to the jewellery stores.
Botryoidal Jade, Rarest of the Rare Jades by Duke McIsaac
Botryoidal nephrite jade. How does one describe it? Lumpy, bumpy, grapey, convoluted, sometimes extruded, brain-like, ugly at first sight but later curiously beautiful, baroque, flowerlike, clustered, singular nuggets of green gold that defy description. A miniature moonscape. All these and more but definitely one, rare! It is an anomaly of the mineral world. It has almost as many names as it does descriptions. Botryoidal or grape jade, botryose and botry, nodular, jade nuggets, jade blossoms, flower jade, bots and bumpy jade. They are all fitting names and again one, rare!

Jadeite, is the rarest.
Only the old soul imperial glowing apple green is the one that is the rarest. Other jadeite are not so. Some people may never ever see a AAA apple green jadeite in their entire life.
I just love jadeite.
