It's probably common knowledge at this point, and it's not clear how long ago you define 'recent,' but Pepsi now owns Taco Bell and Pizza Hut.

Pepsico no longer owns Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut. They spun these off into a new company called Tricon Global Restaurants, Inc. (NYSE symbol - YUM). Tropicana, the juice company, was purchased in 1998. The Quaker Oats (and Gatorade) purchase was completed 10Aug2001. Frito-Lay has been a Pepsico brand for years.
