Can an American marry into Britain's Royal Family?

No reason why not but the Act of Settlement 1701 would have to be observed. So no Roman Catholics but the member of the Royal family who wished to wed could renounce their right to the throne. Some members of the Royal family require the Queen's permission to marry. Wallis Simpson got the black spot in 1936 when she and Edward VIII wished to marry, because she was divorcee.

Of course they can, anyone can. That's not to say the family member's status in the family won't change or be stripped of their royal title. They are still part of the family though, no matter what anyone thinks of who they have married.
Edward may have given up the throne for Wallace, but he was still a member of the royal family, whether they liked it or not. Source: My Mom, English born and bred, LOVES the monarchy!

Edward VIII married an American divorcee in 1936 and abdicated his right to the throne to his brother George (VI) he was given the title 'Duke of Windsor' instead. The disapproval was more due to Wallis Simpson's poor marital record than her origin. Her motives and stability were in question.
