    Did actress Stockard Channing really hurt her leg, or is that wheelchair she sits in on TV's West Wing just for her character, the First Lady?

    		She really did hurt her leg (broke her leg or her ankle), and the writers had to write her injury into the script.

    		Stockard told ET she injured her foot while exercising (hiking.) She's now wheelchair-bound, with four pins and a metal plate in her ankle. But not to worry - she won't miss a single taping of 'West Wing.' Writers are working her injury into the story line! 'The first lady fell and broke her ankle, it's really quite simple!' Stockard revealed.
