What Stephen King novel or movie released in 1990 took place during Christmas?

    Question #14986. Asked by Diva.

    Brainy Blonde

The following by Stephen King were released in 1990.

'The Stand, The Complete and Uncut Edition' Doubleday, 1990. This book takes place over a period of time, including winter. Christmas may be mentioned but it didn't take place at Christmas.

'Four Past Midnight' Viking, 1990. Four short novels but none of them took place at Christmas.

The movie 'Misery' - Based on the book of the same name and released in 1987. This took place in winter but since it has been sometime since I read the book I can't remember if it was at Christmas time or not.

The movie 'Graveyard Shift' - Based on a short story of the same name, from a collection of short stories called 'Night Shift.' The book was released in 1978. This did not take place at Christmas to the best of my recollection.

The movie 'Tales From the Dark Side' - Based on a TV series in the 1980's which was based on a short story first published in a magazine 'The Cavalier.' It was then put in the collection of short stories called 'Tales From the Dark Side.' One of the stories may be set at Christmas, but you will have to look it up. Again, it has been ages since I've read it.

The TV mini-series 'It' 1990 - This of course is not a movie and it was based on the book of the same name released in 1986.

'The Shining' did take place at Christmas if I remember correctly but the book and the feature film were released in 1977. King wrote another screenplay himself for TV in 1997. If all the information in the question is correct and nothing was left out, your best bet is 'Misery.'

In a search for Stephen King Christmas all I found was:

Rush Call (from Secret Windows, 2000)

Description: Dr. Thorpe climbs into a car on Christmas Eve and operates on a young boy trapped in the car. He saves the boy's life, removing his appendix in the process, and discovers the true meaning of Christmas in the process.
