Could be JS Bach's Christmas Oratorio, but you would have to check the dates.

I think the most likely candidate is George Frideric Handel (although he was a anturalized British subject by that time). His 'Messiah', which is often performed at Christmas, was first performed in Dublin on Tuesday 13 April 1742 ('Handel: The Man and His Music' by Jonathan Keates).

It could be George Frideric Handel(born Feb.23,1685, Halle, Saxony %5BGermany%5D
died April 14,1759, London, Eng).He wrote the most famous of all oratorios, the MESSIAH(1741)and its inspired successor,SAMSON.Messiah was given its first performance in Dublin on April 13, 1742,and created a deep impression.

J.S. Bach's two great Passion oratorios were the Passion According to St. John (first performed 1724) and the Passion According to St. Matthew (1729).The Christmas Oratorio and other works by Bach that bear the name oratorio are more properly church cantatas.---From encyclopaedia britannica online.

Yes, I believe it is Handel, even though J.S. Bach were both born in 1685. The 'Hallelujah' song you hear a lot around Christmas time was composed by Handel.
