Who is the only person to win 2 (unshared) Nobel prizes, in 2 different areas, and (bonus question) for what accomplishments?

Question #15724. Asked by Charles. (Jan 06 02 5:13 AM)

    Tabby Tom

    Tabby Tom says:

Linus C. Pauling won the Chemistry prize in 1954 and the Peace Prize in 1962. According to the Nobel website http://www.nobel.se the Chemistry prize was 'for his research into the nature of the chemical bond and its application to the elucidation of the structure of complex substances.' There's no citation for the Peace prize, but it must have been for his efforts to put an end to the testing of nuclear weapons in the atmosphere.
