    		The Venus Flytrap is at the bottom of the energy pyramid. They're green plants that turn the sun's energy into food energy through photosynthesis, so that puts them on the bottom of the food chain. The major source of energy for Venus Flytrap, which is the sun, not the animals they trap.

    		Like all other plants, the main source of food is air, specifically, the Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere. The plant uses sunlight as energy to break down the Carbon Dioxide into its constituents Carbon and Oxygen. It breathes out the Oxygen and uses the Carbon to build its tissues. The fly trapping is purely to provide a little extra sustenance in the form of Nitrogen and trace elements.
