What exactly is the 'Thames Water Tower' just near Shepherd's Bush and does anyone know what it is meant to tell us ?

Question #15770. Asked by Sarah. (Jan 07 02 12:48 PM)

    Stevo

I believe it is a water barometer, so presumably it measures pressure and may indicate height above sea-level.

Stevo is correct as this is a barometer. However I belive that this tower also acts as a 'surge' valve for the Thames Water London Water Ring Main.
