    If you mean the Dave Starsky of 'Starsky and Hutch' he was played by Paul Michael Glaser, who was born Paul 'Manfred' Glaser on 25th March 1943 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on the East Coast of America.
    I think Starsky was referred to as a Los Angeles detective
