I have got my serious head on for this one. As an anti and ex smoker, I would say what ever you paid for the one that killed you. Most people seem to inhale cigar smoke now so I am classing them as dangerous as cigarettes and the number of deaths from smoking related diseases are quite staggering.

It does depend what country you are in as the most expensive in one country may be relatively cheap in another. Especially when you take UK duty on tobacco into consideration. The most expensive in the USA is the ROLL-X PLATIUM One super cigar, super shape (Diadema) made by only one master roller, four wrapper leafs, individually boxed, retail at {$50} per cigar. - www.beveragebusiness.com/art-arch/cig10111.html

Found another one that beats my first answer. - www.lanka.net/lakehouse/1997/11/18/for05.html An Asian buyer paid 23,000 Swiss francs {($16,400)} for a box of 25 rare Cuban 'Trinidad' cigars at an auction in Geneva in 1997. Auctioneers Christie's said the price of 920 Swiss francs {($660)} per cigar set a new auction record. The previous mark was 644 francs at a May auction of 25 Trinidad cigars from the special selection of the Cuban national factory generally reserved for heads of state and other dignitaries, Christie's said. Neither the buyer nor the seller of the Trinidad cigars, 19 cm (7.5 inches) long each and packed in their original cedar box, was identified.
