    		The answer must be Rebecca.
    It is all to do with Jenkins' Ear which is the name given to an incident that helped provoke war between England and Spain in 1739. Captain Robert Jenkins of the brig Rebecca(also title of book by du maurier) claimed to have been attacked by a Spanish Coastguard in 1731 and his ship was plundered and his ear severed.
