Frequently used muscles like the tongue or facial muscles are operated voluntarily and therefore are at rest when we are asleep. I think that the muscles concerned are controlled by the autonomic nervous system and operate constantly. The prime muscle is the myocardium which makes the heartbeat (ave 60-80 times per minute).
