    		The first computer was called the Analytical Engine and was designed by Charles Babbage. (Shell book of firsts)

    		Having tripped up many times on this - you need to define the type of computer you are referring to
    Analytical or logical, Mechanical or electronic, programmed or retained memory etc... all have 1st's devised by different people
